READ THE RESULT

What this information means

The result card shows the network egress presented to the internet by your browser's current request. Each field describes only one aspect and should be assessed alongside the destination and your device's network settings.

Egress address

Your public IP is the address shown to the internet when the current request reaches its destination. Run the lookup again after switching routes to verify whether the egress changes. The copy button copies only the IP returned by the API; it does not generate or complete missing results.

Country or region

The location comes from a GeoIP database identifying the address range and is useful for confirming the egress's approximate region. Database updates may lag, so city-level details can differ from the actual data-center location. Use the country or region as the primary reference.

Network operator

The ISP field usually shows the network operator or autonomous-system organization associated with the current egress address. It can help distinguish home, mobile, and data-center connections, but the exact name depends on the API's data format and registration details.

Proxy detection status

Proxy status is a detection field supplied by the GeoIP API. It does not indicate connection quality, security level, or access scope. If the API returns no clear Boolean result, this page keeps showing “Temporarily unavailable” rather than inferring a result from other fields.

DNS REVIEW

DNS leak check

Your public IP and DNS resolution path are separate types of information. The result card shows the network egress seen by the GeoIP API; it does not directly indicate where your device's DNS requests go. Checking for DNS leaks requires reviewing system settings, browser settings, and resolution paths before and after connecting.

  • Confirm the current egress first

    After connecting to the desired route, refresh this page and confirm that the egress country or region matches your expectation before checking DNS settings.

  • Check your system DNS configuration

    Open your device's network settings and see whether the current connection uses automatically assigned DNS or manually specified servers. If a fixed configuration from the previous network remains, confirm that it fits your current setup.

  • Check the browser's secure DNS

    Some browsers let you specify a separate DNS resolver, whose path may not follow the system settings. If the browser behaves differently from other apps, check this setting first.

  • Disconnect and compare again

    Record changes to the egress and DNS settings before and after connecting. If the egress has changed but DNS resolution continues to use the previous network configuration, check the client's and system's network permissions.
